Metal Casting
Real METAL Solutions - in a matter of days!
ARRK's first-class global reputation for its wide range of product development capabilities and services, such as prototyping, tooling and moulding is common knowledge. However one of its most successful and valued services is the Foundry Team. The secret's out!
Based at the UK's Gloucester site in Quedgeley, ARRK's team of talented patternmakers combine the skills and techniques learnt from ARRK's rapid prototyping operation and adopt these time-saving techniques to produce metal parts in aluminium and zinc in exceptionally short timescales.
Established in 1996, our Foundry has helped many businesses. From one off castings, to batches for small production runs, to near die-cast quality by using a gravity casting technique.
ARRK is able to offer a range of services from: quickcast models, sand and investment castings, through to high-pressure die-cast tools. But it is the RPM aluminium and zinc process in Gloucester that has been the key to its success.
This process is accelerated by our team using 3D CAD data from the customer to produce a stereolithography (SL) model. Our patternmakers and foundrymen produce a tool so that castings can be obtained, often within 2 to 3 weeks of receipt of the SL model in the pattern shop.
ARRK can cast precision components in aluminium using LM6, LM20, LM24, LM25 or L99 and in zinc using ZA3, ZA8, or ZA12, to a minimum wall thickness of 1mm for most geometries.
Size does matter - components up to 400x400x250mm can be produced, depending on the weight of the plaster.
Post-machining is also available via our CNC department, which specialises in the machining of complex components using either 3 or 5 axis DMU units. ARRK is also able to offer its customers an X-ray service, Die Penetration and full CMM service where required.
